   Materials Processing Center

An interdisciplinary center within MIT's School of Engineering, the Materials Processing Center (MPC) advances materials research by building a community of researchers from MIT, industry, and government.

The MPC provides an environment where industry, government, and academia collaborate to identify and address pivotal multidisciplinary issues in materials processing and manufacturing. The MPC focuses on strengthening its intellectual community, enhancing industrial outreach, and providing superior administrative support. It creates partnerships with industry to focus research and education on industrially relevant issues for the electronics, transportation, primary materials, construction, energy, and biomaterials sectors. Materials Day 08'

MPC/CMSE REU Summer Internship 2008

18 undergraduates from across the country have convened at MIT this summer, to participate as research interns in the annual MPC/CMSE REU Summer Scholars Program. The internship program runs from June through August, 2008. Interns will be researching medical uses of materials, developing transparent, flexible superoileophobic materials and researching the solubility of rippled particles, to name a few. These are this years interns.
